About This Blog

Racialicious is a blog about the intersection of race and pop culture. Check out our daily updates on the latest celebrity gaffes, our no-holds-barred critique of questionable media representations, and of course, the inevitable Keanu Reeves John Cho newsflashes.

Latoya Peterson (DC) is the Owner and Editor (not the Founder!) of Racialicious, Arturo García (San Diego) is the Managing Editor, Andrea Plaid (NYC) is the Associate Editor. You can email us at team@racialicious.com.

The founders of Racialicious are Carmen Sognonvi and Jen Chau. They are no longer with the blog. Carmen now runs Urban Martial Arts with her husband and blogs about local business. Jen can still be found at Swirl or on her personal blog. Please do not send them emails here, they are no longer affiliated with this blog.

What an interesting coincidence.  My sister and I are African American.  My sister has two chronic health conditions that cause her a great deal of pain.  She was in so much pain on Sunday that I had to take her to the emergency room.   She told me that doctors and nurses never believe her when she tells them how much pain she is in.  I told her about the study regarding Blacks and pain medication the panel mentions above. After the third time she told the ER nurse that her pain was at a level 10 (some hours after we got to the ER), she finally got something that was adequate.

This “CoveritLive” plays an ad. A loud, electronica-driven ad. Just on its own, without provocation. FYI

Aww man – I don’t use it often so I didn’t see it.  I’ve switched to the no Ad version.  Hopefully it flips over before 3 PM.  If not, follow the twitter feed.
