A Nation LOLZ: The Best Of #CainWreck

For Herman Cain, it looks to be all over except for the tweeting.

Cain didn’t technically drop out of the 2012 Republican nomination race Saturday – he’s “suspending his campaign,” a bit of legalese that, according to the New York Times, allows him to raise money in order to go on tour and promote projects like his Cain Solutions website.

But by the time he finished quoting Pokemon again in front of a crowd of supporters in Atlanta, the Koch Brothers’ stooge “brother from another mother’s” campaign was already being discussed in the past tense, with the schadenfreude-licious hashtag #CainWreck. Under the cut are some of the choicest bits of snark from the weekend. And farewell, Herman – by the end, we knew a bit too much about thee.

    That tweet by ‘theblackmurse’ cracked me up.  Which isn’t quite right, since I’m at work.  But that ish was hilarious.  The entire campaign was funny, although it ended kinda sad and pitiful.

    I’ll have to check and see if that house I drive by on the way home still has their Cain sign out.  They held on all the way through last week.

    Though politics have never been a “clean” game, we’ve reached a new low when people are treating campaigning for the most important office in this country solely as a launching pad for careers in the public eye. It is also pretty obvious that Cain was propped up by Koch brothers and other interests since nearly all presidential candidates thus far have held some sort of public office or have been publicly known prior to running. The powers that be don’t just let rando’s (random citizens) reach the national stage like this. It was not a mistake that Herman Cain is black. The “old, rich, white, male” image of the Republican Party is not wooing new fans and they need some sort of leverage against claims of racism, sexism, etc. Look out next for the openly gay Republican candidate in the near future.
