    Hi,

I can’t digg stuff at work — my computer is weak. But, I wanted to highlight this article from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

Bar owner’s shirts compare Obama to Curious George.

Foot-in-mouth epidemic is in the early stages. Actually most people have not yet shot themselves in the foot. Just wait until we get to November…….

Wow so much to write about!
ok, kinda agree about the fashion, racism, gay thing. Before you get your underwear in a bunch, I think the designers in couture act racist because they come from a euro/american/wherever white dominated world view. Despite their being gay, they still benefit from white privilege and male privilege. So that makes them the arbiters of fashion whom can declare that Africa and India and other places where brown people live are great for inspiration, but bad to actually have people who wear those clothes do it on your runway. With the exception of Alec Wek and Iman.
Bill O’Reilly blow up-all I can say is, I am not surprised.
APA statements. Ok, Anyone can have someone write a targeted statement that appeals to a demographic. So Hillary had an aide that wrote a really personal note to you and Barack wrote you a somewhat less personal, quasi generic one. But you missed something, he said, he has people in his family who are Asian. So maybe speaking as kinfolk, he might have felt he didn’t have to elaborate on the stuff you both already know. Bein Asian an all. I would go for someone who is what I am-damn the personalized statement.
UPS-Green card thing, well the next thing, we’ll be needing to carry papers to prove we are free and are out and about doin our Massa’s business. So you better learn to read and write so you can go north to freedom. But damn, the UPS is worldwide! What’s next the south African pass system? But Gandhi and Mandela fought to eliminate that didn’t they?

I will not address the workplace comments,
they are fodder for enrollment in the diversity course I teach. I gleefully correct them as to whatever jacked up thing they said, explain why and tell them how to register.
