About 3/4 my family is Colombian Catholic and they are all the most viciously homophobic people I have ever had to deal with. There are those who call people fags on Counterstrike and then there’s my parents who feel gay people should be placed into concentration camps.
I still have no idea how this attitude came into being, whether its genesis is religious or cultural in being, but it’s because of it I can never tell my parents who I’m dating.
