I appreciate someone pointing out how interrelated different forms of oppression (sexism, racism, homophobia, etc.) are, but the article just seemed to me to imply, “Well, calling something sexist can’t sell, so let’s call it racist!” And linking it to Obama seemed a bit of a stretch — maybe the author would have been off linking acceptable sexist imagery to, I don’t know, Clinton?

    I was pleasantly surprised by the comments section! Although people disagreed, most were fairly understanding, and I couldn’t find any racial slurs. Why can’t we Americans ever have a civil dialogue on race, religion, or immigration?

    Or maybe the article just did a good job of censorship… =/
