Wow. Defacement of graves of people who were fighting FOR France during WWII, just because they happened to be Muslim. That’s pretty disgusting.

Native Americans aren’t the only ones angry about Bob Dumas. G-105 doesn’t give a shit about Lumbees, Black Americans, Hispanics, gay people or women, othewise they would have fired this all-”round bigot 15 years ago. I hate fake apologies.
He used to call Fantasia Barrino “ghetto” and said one morning that Halle Berry has no business calling herself black when she’s mixed. He organized a straight pride parade once(even though every day is straight pride day) Bob likes to bring on self hating black people to validate his worldview, and he thinks it’s all ok if he calls white people “honkys” I guess it got too vitriolic for his old sidekick Madison, a black woman. She’s on another station in NC now, splitting after creative differences or something.

Oh boy, as a resident of the G-105 listening area, I remember when it was Bob & Madison. Even back in 7th grade I thought that guy was a royal D-bag. The “straight pride parade” and now this have only proven I was wise beyond my years.

Wow. This Bob Dumas guy sounds like a real winner…
It’s interesting though that Iron Eyes Cody, the “crying indian” Dumas alludes to was born to Italian parents. He moved to Hollywood to become an actor, and I guess thought it would be easier to get work if he passed himself off as a Native American. To his credit though, he seems to have truly tried to immerse himself in Native culture, even after his heritage became known, so perhaps he didn’t appropriate a Native identity solely for selfish reasons.
It’s also interesting to look at Hollywood today, and then. “Ethnic” parts are still played by whatever “ethnic” looking actors are available, regardless of their race or ethnicity.

“A lot of Indians live on the reservation”….is that a put-down, or is he just a fan of the completely obvious?
I realize that I’m an urban Indian, but I never questioned that reservations were largely Indian, since they are, you know, INDIAN Reservations.
Sigh.
