I thought this was fascinating: Freedom Rider: Democrats Target Kucinich for Defeat from http://www.blackagendareport.com/, February 13: “While Barack Obama garners 80% to 90% of black votes in the primaries, it is the Kucinich platform that actually expresses the political opinions of most black Americans. Disavowal of American military aggression and support for government enforcement of legal and civil rights of citizens are the hallmarks of Kucinich’s history. Obama makes eloquent but empty speeches bereft of specifics. In contrast, Kucinich’s national political life appeared to be over shortly after it began because he took a courageous stand against corporate power.”

It was absolutely insulting and deplorable the way Kucinich’s campaign was undermined. He was the only candidate that I could have voted for with no reservations.

If he’s kicked out of Congress next, then I’m registering as an Independent.

lol, uh, regarding the first link.. I too uh, ahem, have a thing for indian men. And I’m still in the process of figuring out why I’m more aware of when an Indian guy is around yet I still find men of all racial backgrounds attractive. Should I feel bad about this? Hmm. *scratches head*

Please, please I beg you, don’t link to New York Times stories about Africa/Kenya/the World. It has some of the most biased and simplistic coverage I’ve seen. I’m Kenyan and have been reading Jeffrey Gettleman’s coverage of Kenya since the crisis started in January, and he makes me seethe with anger each time. His coverage is ahistorical, simplistic, and he seems all to eager to fall back on racist tropes of African tribalism supposedly dating from ‘ancient hatreds’. Oh how they love talking about ancient hatreds.

Some more balanced sources of news on Kenya are the Kenyan paper, the Standard:

As well as the BBC news online.

Now I’m even more glad I check the BBC way more often than the NYT.

Also, how good is http://allafrica.com/ at coverage and at selecting articles from partner?
