    Mencia is pathetic!

And notice how “American woman” is defined as “US born White woman”?

So most of the women in my neighborhood (New York City’s West Harlem) aren’t “American” by Carlos’ and Bud Light’s definition!

?Como se dice “uncle Tom” en espanol?

Carlos Mencia is a hate-mongering hack. He steals material from lesser known and more talented comedians and puts on a bullshit “telling it like it is!” show for middle American idiots. His show is just Blue Collar Comedy with a Hispanic host instead of a bunch of white guys.

Everyone in comedy hates this man. He is second only to Dane Cook in the level of contempt people have for the derivative, meaningless drivel he calls his act.

hmm, the girl in the yellow looked like a black woman.. but her hair is so bone straight and skin is light enough to pass for white if you didn’t stare hard enough. I agree @ Dan about carlos’ act, carlos mencia relies heavily on racial stereotypes and other offensive “humor”.

    R. Prince,

You’re right – the woman in the yellow top in the second vignette IS a Black woman.

She’s actually not that light, she’s kinda brownskinned (about Beyonce’s complexion – she’s got the long straight hair like B does too).

But, since she’s only on the screen for less than a second, it would be easy to miss her.

LOL what is there to say that hasn’t already been said. I find his comedy revolting. The stand up routine that always airs on Comedy Central makes me taste bile in my mouth. He’s really not that funny and this commercial was bogus.

Check this out if you want to see a real comedian demonstrate exactly how boring and intellectually void Mencia’s act really is. And for real laugh, read the comments.

[Moderator's Note: Dan, I'll approve this, but I saw the video and it's really inconclusive. Is the woman here parodying Mencia's act? The beginning note (and title of the video) makes it seem like Mencia stole her act, but she doesn't include the date of her performance compared to his, nor does she provide enough context to explain why she's cracking a joke about having a sweaty nutsack. Please explain.]

She’s just doing one of his bits line for line yet completely deadpan to demonstrate how he’s all delivery and no substance. If you listen carefully, she actually refers to herself as Carlos a few times.

It’s also a parody of a trend on youtube where comedians who feel he’s stolen from them will make videos comparing footage of them doing the joke to his version of it, and usually point out how they did it years before him.

It’s funny, because most of the people leaving comments on it seem to be teenage Mencia fans who have no concept of satire and actually seem to think she’s just lying about it being her routine despite the fact that she says she first performed the joke in 1923, which is obviously a joke.

wait. he identifies himself as a minority. so that means he can’t be a racist.

    DirkDiggler-

The thing about Sarah Silverman is that she’s doing legitimate satire. Whether or not people like her, the point of her act is that she’s making herself look stupid in order to make a point about racism and the people who actually believe the types of things she says. She’s an artist. (Even if she does rely on a lot of sophomoric/scatalogical humor.)

What I don’t respect about somebody like Carlos Mencia is that he’s just exploiting stereotypes to get laughs without actually having anything of substance to say on the subject. And if anybody points that out he simply hides behind the idea that he’s “telling it like it is” or that he’s just not afraid to offend the PC police like everyone else or some other intellectually dishonest bullshit like that.

Do I think he’s a racist? Not necessarily. But he doesn’t seem to be interested in doing anything but feeding people’s more negative instincts (and getting rich in the process).

ladies in gentlement, this type of act is EXACTLY what dave chappelle saw coming when he walked away from his multi-million dollar contract.

unfortunately, this is part of chappelle’s legacy. he made it ‘okay’ to be politically incorrect, racist, and funny at the same time.

mencia tried to copy it and failed, because he forgot the funny. not to mention the intellect behind a good joke.

this commercial is so offensive and NOT funny. mencia sucks.
