Friday off

by Carmen Van Kerckhove

I’m on the road with spotty internet access, so probably won’t be able to post anything tomorrow. We’ll be back on Monday with lots of great new stuff for you though! :)

Sidenote: I’m in New Mexico right now and I have never seen so much sky in my life. It’s kind of jarring.

Have a great time, Carmen! NM is the big sky state and folks are fairly laid back. If you are near Silver City, they have great soapapillas with honey! Mmmm.

I’m in NM right now–I live here!–and I never met a sopaipilla I didn’t love!! Try FRY BREAD too if you can. It’s like sopaipillas on sterioids. Serious yum!

And the NM sky thing? It will never get old.

Hey Kim and Brenda, I had some sopaipillas - omg they were delish! And now I finally understand what “big sky country” means - it’s pretty spectacular.

I tried to bring home some salsa from the restaurant in Albuquerque but the airport security jerks confiscated it. :(

p.s. you can get fry bread here in nyc…i think the guy with the indigenous american food stand on 2nd st and 3rd ave makes it…AND he’s pretty awesome, so even if he doesn’t have him, it’s worth checking out.

Didn’t you grow up in HK?? Are you based in NY? Big “city” gal :)

See, there is nothing like expansive nothingness.

Check out the night sky! There’s nothing like it!!

be sure to pick up one of those t-shirts that reads: New Mexico. Cleaner than regular Mexico.

New Mexico is awesome. My heart lives there. Say hi to the women of a room of her own.
