Noted with irony: ‘Bout time somebody mentioned Ankiel. Baseball puts me to sleep, so I didn’t before, but absolutely yes to this big headed double standard (or is it hypodermic hypocrisy now, somebody lay out the straight dope, once and for all)?

Just noted: Leona Lo’s story just makes you stop and realize that for all it’s messed-upedness, America continues to leave room for more for eroding civil liberties given the Craig Crackdown on sex. All the talk is on “gay sex” not “public sex”, so if her tale of Singapore’s roundup of other gendered folks doesn’t make everyone stop and think what could happen in the name of progress if someone doesn’t come to their senses, wow. I’m glad she and others in that part of the world found their guts and voice and speak their truth as they know it. Will be interesting to hear more.

Noted without irony: West’s “Graduation” will likely sell 750k units compared to 50 Cent’s “Curtis” 550k units this week– the first week for both of their third albums, released on 9/11. (50 Cent famously said he would retire if West beat him on sales for this one). Recall also that West threw yet another temper tantrum about the lack awards he received at the VMAs (despite five nominations); his own lack of visibility (he hosted a high-visibility party from his suite at MTV’s request from which he hurled obscenities due to the choice of Justin Timberlake to close the show), and was booted from TRL on Tuesday where 50 Cent appeared with West’s album covered up (due to said VMA tantrums). Spears did look like a mess, she was exploited (although not without some help), and if West was sincere, I’m glad he spoke up where her “friends” didn’t (though yet again it takes a black man to defend a white woman’s pride?) And MTV continues to be relevant how?

    Geebus…

Re; NYT on WVa. Dear God what a horrible crime: I’ve been so numb by this awful news all day. You know some sick F**k already must be making a horror movie script from this, getting their rocks off on this, whatever, and optioning a script as this gets typed. No PoC director should touch this and I dare any studio to greenlight this barbaric… I don’t even have the words for it… I hope someone keeps an eye out for anything moving in this direction. My prayers this never happens to anyone, regardless of color at all, and that this never gets glorified.
