The article by Emily Wax in the Washington Post regarding the condition and position of Dalits such as Pratibha Valmik Kamble in the country of India may underscore the fact that India may be harboring one of the worst cases of ‘racial apartheid’ within the modern world today. The original ancient civilization of India began around 2500 B.C. and consisted of a dark skin race of people called the Dravidians who were eventually invaded and conquered around 1500 B.C. by a light-skin, nomadic, violent, and uncivilized people from the north called the Aryans. The Aryans were a very ‘patriarchal’ and war-like people who eventually established a religious system and a caste system to maintain their control and advantage. During World War II Hitler of Germany utilized the Aryan racist theology as his model for the theme of a German super race. The word ‘Aryan’ is from the Sanskrit ‘arya’ which translates as ‘noble’ and the ethnic origin of the Aryan people is probably the ancient people of Iran. The ancient history of India is deeply connected to the history of world racism mainly through the historical relationships between ‘patrist’ (patriarchal) and ‘matrist’ societies. It is an excellent model for studying the origin of global racism.
