Watching the VH-1 “The Pickup Artist” and it’s sterotype of the “uncool” asian dude has gone on far enough, I have seen the non sexual George Takei and Brian Toshi (I think) who did the voice in “Hong Kong Phooey” and the 80’s Movies Police Academy (when he finally gets some from Leslie Easterbrook) and “Revenge of the Nerds”. You would have thought this sterotype would have faded like ‘The Cabbage Patch Dance” of the early 80’s but like Jheri Curls, Bad Teenage movies and 300 pound brothas dressing like Prince during the “Purple Rain” era this sterotype won’t die.
like like the ‘ghetto homegirl’ of Tiffany Pollard the nerdy Asian guy is just as bad as the thug brotha because it creates the same one- dimensional image that Asians are either inept in the game of romance when that stuff doesn’t always ring true. I Knew Korean and Vietnenese dudes in my junior and high school who had more game with the ladies than I did and had to ask them for pointers because I was scared s&&*less of girls at that point ,so when I saw that stupid show of the “white player” and the nerdy Asian and Jewish dudes I said “Sixteen Candles” don’t you think they could have sprinkled in some Black and Latin guys because we don’t come out the womb with a cool rap with the ladies.
Most guys in general don’t know how to talk to girls or women or any age it does not matter what race you are.

The comments on the article about Naomi Campbell are appalling. I only read the ones on the first page, but the phrase “playing the race card” is used several times. I also notice that it seems to be mostly men (presumably white men) who are criticizing her, whereas the women commenting mostly seem to agree.
Not to mention the tone of the article itself, with Campbell’s criticisms depicted as “railing” and use of the terms “models with white skins” and “fair skinned models” rather than just “white models.”

Love the casting call for the Beyonce/AMEX commercial.
“Real Japanese type parents.”
Which type? Oh yeah! Japanese type! The real ones! Maybe they should have real samurai/ninja/kamikaze pilot type regalia to improve their credibility.

A “type” I always see in commercials is the light to very light skinned black/multiracial woman with the “poodle curls” hairdo. They make up not-insignifigant percentage of the black women I see in commercials. As far as I can tell, this hairstyle is now out of fashion…except on these women in TV commercials.
