i wish people would stop trying to use these lame excuses for the readership/audience to pardon their racism: “Of course, I’m that kind of white American for whom this shouldn’t be true. I grew up in the 1970s, singing “We Shall Overcome” at school assemblies. I’ve had black bosses, written about Kwanzaa, and know what Juneteenth is. I even have a black cousin!”
i think that the power of the media and sometimes actual experiences lend themselves to completely destroying any initial unity/connection, on varying levels of superficiality or depth of course, so i don’t know why their internalized racism comes as such a shock. it’s like…ok good for you, u know some colored people and now you have problems with them. either get over it or work on your issue, but i don’t need to know your entire life story in the process…

Way too white : Another white female full of angst because she finally sees the racial distance between her black neighbors. I am racially fatigued to be honest, 25 years of Reagan,Limbaugh, Bob Grant ,Ann Coulter , white shock jocks ,white male conservative racial backlash along with centrist liberal BS has hardened me personally and I am not interested in either ‘colorblindness’ or the serious talk Hauser and other whites/others desire. White America’s mind games have done great mental, emotional and physical damage to Black America, like Europe it’s time we saved ourselves.
Maybe I am sounding racist ,but I don’t care anymore reading about liberal white female fear of Blacks , This story is getting as old as old 80 year white Presidents of colleges using the N-Word, then blaming a 34 y.o. music, dance, art culture. If older Blacks want to have this discussion then that’s them but there are more issues I am more interested in being a mentor for young Black Children than what passes for racial dialouge in 2007.
