TURNING UP THE VOLUME:
Here we go again; attempting to train black girls into submissive shut-up-and-take-it black women. No suprise that those black girls are punished differently. What’s sad is that they may not have anywhere to turn for help, especially if the offenders are black themselves. Sometimes I think black people couldn’t unite even if they were super-glued and stapled together!

FOX Screwup Redux: Sen. Obama is one of five UCC members in the Senate. The UCC also claims five U.S. Representatives. All told, there are five Democrats and five are Republicans. Given the availability of info, and their own range of connections, Fox News must/should have known this but purposefully chose to suppress the facts.
Re Immigration Bill: Consider that the conservative US Chamber of Commerce pushed *for* and the liberal AFL-CIO pushed *against* this bill, especially on guest worker provision. 2008 elections are going to be interesting.
Re Supreme Court: The decision doesn’t cover districts that weren’t under “integration” orders during that time period addressed. Don’t delude yourselves looking for “good” news, but look closely at Kennedy’s opinion for both what’s said and what isn’t. He recognizes diversity as an important goal, but poses a challenge underscored by the very existence of this particular case: how do you achieve it and make it stick through social institutions without taking responsibility for it as an entire community throughout all that is done? When the Court is shifting right, that means no punting to the legislature to solve every social problem (or at least more informed thought and creativity and planning when doing so).
