I actually saw this picture on a pro obama facebook group a while ago. Not surprisingly all the commenters seemed to think that it was funny and really pro-obama.

I would DEFNITELY vote for her rather than him. I don’t subscribe to race views, rather prefer the sex ones. She and I share similar traits and to tell the truth, I feel she has my back more than he does….yeah, I’m a WOMANIST……

Kind of interesting. It struck me that though one of the “criticisms” (explicit or implied) of Ms. Clinton is that she’s ugly, she’s frigid, she’s a bitch, in this rendering of her she looks quite pretty and has a big smile. I’m afraid I haven’t any good analysis to offer on this point, but it does make me wonder what the designer(s) were thinking. Were they trying to make her look more sexualized, like a ‘ho’? Or were they just going for a smile so it would be visually congruent with Mr. Obama’s expression? Curious.
Also, regarding some of the other commenters, I’d like to say that as someone who admittedly still needs to do a lot of reading before she votes, I prefer Obama to Clinton. However, I think that this t-shirt is both unsurprising and revolting in its dismissiveness towards the female candidate. I think by using the word ‘ho’ to describe a presidential candidate (to my mind it’s dehumanizing to use it against anyone, but that’s another conversation), this shirt is expressing the not-uncommon belief that it’s okay to deride and ridicule women who seek to occupy places traditionally held be men. “She has a vagina, what is she thinking, trying to be president. What a ho.” It reminds me of that preposterous concern that a woman president might nuke England or something if she’s having bad PMS.
The shirt is repulsive, and the designer does a disservice to both candidates by his/her ignorance. Furthermore, I don’t think that this is “looking too deep into it” because while it is just a shirt, it’s also not just a shirt – sexism appears to be a near-constant factor in popular criticisms of Hilary Clinton (and of ambitious, smart women in general).

This shirt basically says, “Vote Obama, Not Hillary.”
It’s a clever play on words, combining political views with pop culture satire. THEY’RE JUST WORDS!
You think people are going to see this shirt and automatically say, “Oh, yeah, that Hillary Clinton sure is a whore. This shirt proves it.”?
