    Carmen,

Did you happen to see Byron Crawford at XXL’s post on Michelle Obama? He called her a “hoe” and a “quota hire”.

Ugh yeah I did. Wendi sent me a link to it. Let’s not throw any link love his way.

I know he’s trying to be funny, but you know that that 80% of his audience takes it at face value. It’s ridiculous how XXL continues to give him a platform.

Whatever you think of Byron Crawford, that’s par for the course… less surprising than Imus. That’s part of his shtick.

I don’t really care if its part of his “schtick”. It’s not really “schtick” when you’re deliberately parroting conservative misinformation, it’s one thing for him to confine his stupidity to Hip-hop criticism, but if he wants to talk politics he needs to be held accountable.

I think it’s a damn shame that Michelle doesn’t “milk” the feminists for all it’s worth. Feminism is not a loaded term, but people who believe it is are loaded and full of shit themselves. Ignorance breeds ignorance. I’m voting for Barack myself, there are other reasons why Hillary isn’t much of a feminist herself. Her husband cheated on her for the whole world to know, and the fact that she stayed with him is detestable and does not represent a strong woman. The fact that she didn’t drop his ass is a damn shame.

Now, why aren’t black women into feminism? Well let’s see… because we don’t get enough coverage in the media. Hell, look at the Imus incident? It wasn’t black women who represented those young women, it was Jesse Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton. Where were the women? If we want to change that, we need to unite and fight the media and how they portray that women of color feminists do not exist. We do.
