I ranted about the lame Uncle Ben’s rebranding campaign back in April. Good to see I wasn’t the only one who thought MasterFoods’ (hehe) approach was totally tone-deaf. Check out this segment The Colbert Report did a while ago:

One thing I love about The Colbert Report in general (apart from The Daily Show which is just as equally as brilliant) is that Stephen Colbert tends to satirize the idea of stereotypes in a way that leaves people laughing and then right after going, “oh my God, that is so wrong - I can’t believe I think that way.” Versus someone like Carlos Mencia who claims that “I am just saying what everyone else is saying, and I am trying to speak up for the poor white people who have to deal with other ethnicities slamming on them but they can never speak their peace. This is for you.”
