Hat tip to HighJive. Someone please make Kelly shut up. “Embattled R&B singer R. Kelly compared himself to Muhammad Ali, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley and even Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in a magazine interview”
Fire Imus, but keeping buying R Kelly’s albums. That makes a lot of sense.
Why is this pedophile still around? Even if he didn’t piss on the girl, there are far too many other stories of his actions with minors. He should be prosectued by now, not running around comparing himself to someone who put his life on the line so black people could be treated equally. I don’t care what the context of the quote was, it should have been said FROM JAIL!
Oh R.Kelly… yes… the one who brought wedding bells ringing all over the place with the romantic tunes of:
“You remind me of my Jeep; I wanna ride it
Something like my sounds, I wanna pump it
Girl you look just like my cars; I wanna wax it
And something like my bank account, I wanna spend it”
Oh yes…oh yes R. Kelly… you know your lyrics are inspiration of the world of brotherly love and civil rights for all mankind, like the brilliant Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (You know, as long as you remove the negative connotations towards women, and the objectification of women’s bodies as a sexual oriface. …yeeeeah, you might wanna get rid of those kiddy porn charges against you, too. And rid yourself of the past five or six years worth of music videos where you have girls “droppin’ it like it’s hot” and slamming their bodies into your crotch.)

Why is this man still celebrated? If my Jackson can be shunned, why not this goober?
Yeah, innocent until proven guilty; but how has Kelly made the sacrifices that King or Ali made? How has Kelly advanced the cause of human rights?
Twenty years from now, who is going to be listening to Kelly with the same adoration as is given to either Marvin or Bob.
