   And how predictably Western culture takes these racist memes for granted. This is a typical “edgy” story line, seen in countless music video after movie after TV drama after commercial. It’s the same old imperialist ideology being repackaged and sold to each new generation of media consumers. And we here in the White West—US, UK, Canada, Australia, etc—always eat this shit up. Indeed, whether we are conscious of it or not, it is all we know.

   It doesn’t make sense, does it? Because guess what Mr. Wonderful White Guy is treating his girlfriend as…that’s right, property, but I guess it’s uplifting and ennobling and chivalrous when a white guy does it.
